What did I tell you last week? It comes as no surprise to read Monday morning’s headlines, as Olly Murs quits X Factor and the X Factor betting is opened on his potential replacement.

Last week Radio One breakfast show DJ Nick Grimshaw announced he had quit X Factor and on the same day rumours were all over the t’internet that presenter Caroline Flack had been sacked from the X Factor!

This news heralded the start of X Factor betting markets with odds being set on who would replace Grimmy, with Louis Tomlinson being the favourite.

Flack getting the sack is still unconfirmed but presenting partner Olly Murs has announced he will not  be returning for  a second run.

Has Olly Murs quit X Factor because Caroline Flack has been sacked?

At the start of X Factor UK 2015 Olly Murs did say he would not have taken on the presenting role without best pal Caroline by his side, although the official line according to The Sun newspaper is that he wants to focus on his music career. Olly told The Sun:
This was an incredibly hard decision to make and one I didn’t take lightly as I’ve really enjoyed co-hosting The X Factor. It’s been one big adventure and I loved every minute of it. But my heart belongs to music and I want to concentrate 100 per cent on making my next album and getting back to performing.’

Let’s be honest here, we all know Flack and Murs were a shambolic presenting team and I doubt any of expected to see either of them on X Factor 2016.

Along with Grimmy not returning, hearing that Olly Murs quits X Factor has surprised no-one. In fact, I think many of us are breathing a sigh of relief.

X Factor betting on Olly's replacement begins!

William Hill are offering X Factor odds of 2/1 that Big Brother and The Voice presenter Emma Willis replaces Olly and 5/1 that Rylan Clark is given the job. Coral bookmakers are offering 2/1 on Dermot O' Leary returning as host and 3/1 on Rylan, with Emma Willis notched up at 4/1.

Could we see Rylan and Emma team up for potentially the final series of X Factor UK? You decide!
